How to apply

Simple, human and quick

If you are eligible, our application takes about fifteen minutes. We ask for a few simple details about your organisation and your project.

Closed for nowWe are not taking applications at the moment. Our grants come out of a set budget each year, and the trustees look at where that budget stands when they meet. When there is room to open again, this page will say so. In the meantime you are very welcome to get in touch and tell us about your project, and we will keep it on file.
Under £2,000

Reviewed monthly

Decisions are made throughout the year. Any contact before a decision will be by email and telephone. We do not currently award multiple-year grants at this level.

Over £2,000

Reviewed quarterly

Circulated monthly to trustees; a visit may follow. The larger the request, the more detail we ask for. We can consider awards of up to two years, and rarely award more than £10,000.

We fund

Organisations and groups improving health and wellbeing, especially for young people and those who are vulnerable.

Our area

Tyneside, Gateshead and southern Northumberland. Close to the edge? Ask us, we would rather tell you honestly than have you guess.

We do not encourage

Applications from individuals. We are set up to back organisations and groups, so an individual application is very unlikely to succeed.

Applications from national organisations, unless the work is delivered specifically in an area we support.

  • Newcastle upon Tyne
  • North Tyneside
  • South Tyneside
  • Gateshead
  • South East Northumberland, to Hexham

Ashington, Blyth, Bedlington, Cramlington, Morpeth, Newbiggin, Ponteland, Prudhoe, Stocksfield, Corbridge and Hexham. Hexham is about as far west as we go.

We rarely fund here

  • Sunderland
  • County Durham

Our money goes to Tyneside, Gateshead and southern Northumberland first, so an application from here is much less likely to succeed. We will still read an enquiry, but we would rather be honest about the odds.

Outside our area

  • Northern Northumberland
  • West of Hexham
  • Teesside and the south

North of Alnwick, and west of Hexham towards Kielder. To the south, Teesside is outside too: Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Darlington.
